Welcome to Mrs. Minor’s Class! I am looking forward to getting to know each of you and to great year in fifth! Fifth grade is really special. You fifth grade students are the oldest in the school and are the school leaders and role models. Opportunities abound for you! You can get involved in the news show, in chorus, in 4-H, in Jr. Master Gardeners, and more! We will be planning a wonderful trip to Rock Eagle, which will be in November. Some of you will be Safety Patrols. In the spring, fifth grade has their own Field Day, ice cream social, fifth grade luncheon, and Walk of Honor. I have been teaching fifth grade a long time, twenty-one years! It is hard to believe! Before that, I taught middle school, and also kindergarten. I have a husband and a son who is all grown up and lives in Atlanta. I’m glad he doesn’t live too far way! I don’t have any pets—oh, yes, except for our NEW classroom pet, our beta fish. You can help me name him! I know we will have a great year! We will set some goals so that each of us can live up to our ideals and dreams. And we will have fun!
