Idea Girl

I am the one the only Idea Girl!
Okay, so I am not as good as Superman, or as cool as Batman, but I am a super hero. I promise!
What are my super powers you ask? Can I fly? Well, no. Nor can I shoot webs from my wrists. I can create ideas though. What?! You don’t think that is a cool super power? Have you ever tried it? Not as easy as it sounds, let me tell you. Sure, I bet you can spout off some things, but can you focus in on a main idea? Can you support that idea with interesting, intriguing, beguiling, scintillating details? You can you say? Oh! Well how about original ideas? And can you sound like an expert, like you know it all and no one is greater than you, the big cheese, and the head hauncho? If you can, then you must be my sidekick. All super heroes have a sidekick and for those that can’t, I will teach you so I can have lots of sidekicks. Superman has Super boy, Batman has Robin, but I will have ALL OF YOU!!! I bet that will make me cool! Here is my secret. The five W’s. Who, What, Where, Why, and When. Then if you feel really daring, throw in How. Hey wait, who is that

Ideas Trait

The idea trait is about the writing’s overall message and meaning. It is about the content of the writing.
Ideas are strong when they are clear and focused, and move from the general to the specific.

The Ideas Song

(sung to the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat")

Write, write, write your thoughts.

Make your ideas clear.

Tell the reader what you know.

And what you hold most dear.
